Facts

Ms Woolford, working in reception at Knowle Green Medical Surgery, brought whistleblowing detriment claims alleging she was excluded from social events around 2022, was told she should not be doing training and should not be told about training in September 2023, and was not given a £100 Christmas present in 2023. The claims were brought in 2024.

Decision

Employment Judge Bartlett dismissed three specific whistleblowing detriment claims for want of jurisdiction on the basis they were out of time. The alleged detriments dated from 2022 and 2023 but were not brought until 2024.

Practical note

Whistleblowing detriment claims must be brought within strict time limits; claims from 2022 and 2023 brought in 2024 will be dismissed as out of time without an extension.
