Claimant v GXO Logistics UK Limited
Outcome
Individual claims
The complaint of indirect discrimination was withdrawn by the claimant before the tribunal reached a determination on the merits.
The complaint that the respondent failed to pay statutory maternity pay during maternity leave commencing 6 May 2024 was withdrawn by the claimant.
The tribunal found that the complaint of pregnancy and maternity discrimination contrary to section 18 of the Equality Act was not well founded and dismissed the claim.
Facts
Ms Osman brought claims of pregnancy and maternity discrimination against her employer GXO Logistics UK Limited. She had commenced maternity leave on 6 May 2024. Her claims included indirect discrimination, failure to pay statutory maternity pay, and pregnancy/maternity discrimination under section 18 of the Equality Act 2010. The claimant withdrew two of her claims during the hearing.
Decision
The tribunal dismissed two claims on withdrawal by the claimant. The remaining pregnancy and maternity discrimination claim under section 18 of the Equality Act was found to be not well founded and was dismissed by the tribunal.
