Claimant v 67 Crouch Street Ltd
Outcome
Individual claims
The claim was dismissed because the claimant did not attend the video hearing and did not provide any information about his claim which would enable the Tribunal to determine it.
Facts
Mr J Welch brought a claim for unauthorised deduction from wages against his former employer, 67 Crouch Street Ltd. A final hearing was scheduled for 11 August 2025 by remote video. Neither the claimant nor the respondent attended the hearing. The claimant also failed to provide any information about his claim.
Decision
Employment Judge S Shore dismissed the claim because the claimant did not attend the video hearing and had not provided any information that would enable the Tribunal to determine the claim. Both parties were absent from the hearing.
Practical note
Claimants must attend scheduled hearings and provide sufficient evidence for their claims, or risk having their claims dismissed for non-pursuit even if the respondent also fails to attend.
